As OLEV-approved installers, we can help you apply for grants of up to £350 under the Home Charge Scheme, or up to £14,000 under the Workplace Charging Scheme for installing EV charging points. This includes £350 per charging socket, up to a maximum of 40 sockets. We will conduct a free survey at your home or business premises to identify the best locations for the charging points.
Types of Electric Vehicle Charging Points We Install
- Rapid Chargers (SuperChargers)
Typically found at motorway service stations and other public locations, rapid chargers deliver super-fast charging, ideal for mid-journey top-ups. For example, Tesla SuperChargers can charge a vehicle up to 80% in just 20 minutes. - Fast Chargers
Perfect for homes, workplaces, and public locations, fast chargers provide convenient and efficient charging within a few hours. The most common charger we install is rated at 7kW, capable of charging most EVs from 0% to 100% in 6-8 hours. - Slow Chargers (Trickle Chargers)
Designed for emergency charging situations, slow chargers take 12 hours or more to fully charge a vehicle. They are typically used with a standard 13A plug socket and are not suitable for everyday use due to potential overload risks.
EV Charging Connectors and Plugs
There are two main types of EV charging plugs:
- Type 1
A standard connector typically used in older models of electric vehicles. - Type 2
The most commonly used connector, compatible with most modern EVs. Type 2 plugs also support 3-phase charging, which enables faster charging if your installation has this option.
